Former army captain Ed Stafford became the first person to across the Amazon river. The former captain had to come across 50,000 mosquito bites,scorpion attacks and some skin infection. The former withstood all these attacks from the origin of the Amazon river and it took him two and half years to do the record.
Stafford is from Leicesters hire which is England and his age is 34 years. Stafford took nearly 859 days to finish and started from the peak of mount Mismi which is in Peru. Stafford started his journey in the year of 2008 April and walked to the world’s longest river. Stafford reached the Atlantic ocean beach which is about 150 km from the Brazilian city of Belem.
The total journey of Stafford was about 9,650 km but he collapsed only when there was some 85 km left for his destination.
